Guidelines

We are open to everything that isn't boring. The best way to figure out if you're into the same stuff we're into is to read the magazine for free by paying for it with a tweet or a facebook post. (Of course if you buy the print version you'll also get to smell it.) We are especially excited about:
  • Stories too long for other magazines.
  • Stories with too many robots, spaceships, ghosts, or other genre weirdness for other magazines.
  • Stories that play with form.
  • Essentially, all the stuff other venues are too often too boring to publish.
Understand that when we say "stories," we mean "anything that matters." Poems, comics, photos, essays, whatever. It just has to be awesome to read.

We accept submissions through Submishmash. Because we’re interested in long-form work and developing close working relationships with other writers, we will consider work in several configurations. You can submit an individual piece of work, or, if you would be interested in letting us consider selections from your body of work, you can submit a single word document with several submissions. Combine genres, send a couple hundred pages, whatever you think makes the most sense. Just understand we won’t read anything more than the work compels us to read. If you have a pitch for a serialized feature, an online column, or anything we haven’t imagined or provided for here, you can submit that too.
